Ready for Your Next Act?
For the performer who loves the rehearsal as much as the final bow, Rootz Theater Company offers a chance to go deeper. This advanced, audition-only program brings students together to strengthen their acting, singing, movement, and stage presence while working toward a full production.
Building on the skills explored in Broadway Stars, company members develop characters, take on new challenges, and experience what it means to create a show as a cast.
2026–2027 eligibility: Students entering grades 4–8 in fall 2026.

From Audition to Opening Night
1. Join the Company
The initial audition is for acceptance into Theater Company. It gives students a chance to share their acting, singing, and movement skills.
2. Find Your Role
Every student admitted to Theater Company receives a role in both the Winter and Spring performances; acceptance does not guarantee a particular part.
A Little Preparation. A Lot of Personality.
Here’s what students prepared for the spring 2026 auditions. Use this as a look at the process, and confirm requirements with our team before any future audition.
Move
Learn a dance at the audition. No prepared choreography is needed.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring water, sneakers, and jazz shoes if you have them.
Sing
Prepare about 30 seconds of a song that feels comfortable and shows off your voice.
Choose a musical theater song or another favorite—it does not need to be from a specific show. Sing a cappella or bring a karaoke track on your phone.
Act
Prepare a monologue of 60 seconds or less. Memorization is not required.
Choose something that lets your personality come through. Theater and improv games may also be included if time allows.
