Preschool Theatre

Superheroes

Ages: 3.5 - 4.5 Years | Class Length: 60 Minutes

Do you have what it takes to save the world? Children benefit from imaginative play and imitating their favorite superheroes. In this class, your child and fellow superheroes will help save the world in this interactive and high-energy class through cooperative games, team building skills, literature, projects, and more.  Help us save the world one superhero at a time!

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Ages: 2.5 - 3.5 Years | Class Length: 50 Minutes

Start your engines! Come take a ride with us as we build train tracks, make dump trucks, and build flying machines. We combine art and dramatic play with this course designed to be your child’s first “away from mom” class. Our adventures will sharpen their imagination, kick start their motor skills, and ignite their passion for flying.

Class Benefits:

  • Increase social/emotional growth through taking turns and interactive play
  • Confidence separating from mom/caregiver
  • Develop gross and fine motor skills

Storybook Theatre

Ages: 3.5 - 5 Years | Class Length: 60 Minutes

Let your little star shine! Our youngest performers create and become the characters in exciting stories brought to life.  Using classic stories and nursery rhymes, this introductory class introduces young children to the magic of theatre as they discover their own exceptionality and individuality. As well as playing pretend, students will also take part in fun-filled theatre exercises and movement games. We welcome parents multiple times throughout the session to see our progress. Theatre Classes

Improv Comedy: Live on Stage!

Ages: Grades 3 - 6 | Class Length: 60 Minutes

Improvisation is the art of acting without a script. This class will introduce kids to the basics of performing and help develop self-confidence on and off stage. We offer a supportive, fun environment so children can learn to express themselves through verbal communication and physical expression. Your child will learn to think on their feet, work with others, and have a great time. Class work culminates in a showcase at the end of the session for friends and family to witness their budding comedic skills.

Musical Performance Classes

Broadway Bound

Ages: Grades Pre K - K or Grades K - 1 | Class Length: 60 Minutes

Come onstage for an introduction to musical theatre in Broadway Bound. Using teamwork, theatre games, technique exercises and imaginative play, we will work together to create a mini-musical for our families. Every session we do a different popular play to recreate for friends and family on the last day. This spring, we will transform our students into cute little black and white puppies (a whole bunch of them!) trying to find their way home to their mommy and daddy. Costumes, props, and more set this opportunity above the rest!

Broadway Stars: Seussical Kids

Grades: 1-3 or 1-5 | Class Length: 90 Minutes (Saturday class meets for 120 Minutes)

Broadway Stars is open to all students in 1st-3rd grade. (Saturday class is grades 1-5). We introduce beginning actors to the ins and outs of being in a show while providing new instruction for more seasoned performers. Our Broadway Stars show is perfect for those who love to move, sing, and be a part of something fantastic! Sound, lights, costumes, props, and more set this opportunity to perform on the big stage above the rest! Join us today and build skills and friendships to last a lifetime!

Winter/Spring 2018 Mainstage Musical: Seussical Kids

The Tuesday and Thursday class meets twice a week from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Saturday class meets once a week from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.  The class will run the following dates for the different sections:

  • T/TH: January 4th-May 22nd
  • SAT: January 6th – May 21st

Two tickets per performance (four tickets total) are provided for each registered student.  Additional tickets will be available for purchase for $10.

Center Stage: School House Rock Live! Jr.

Ages: 8 - 13 | Class Length: 105 Minutes

The Center Stage program is open to all 8-13 year-old actors interested in being a part of a fun and high-energy rockin’ musical!  We will focus on singing, dancing, and scene work, all while building stage presence and technique.  All experience levels are welcome, as Center Stage offers great opportunities for beginners and stage veterans alike.  We will conclude our session with a production on the big stage.  If you are excited to be a part of something wonderful and make great friends along with way, join us for Center Stage!

Winter/Spring 2018 Mainstage Musical: School House Rock Live! Jr.

This show meets two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:45 pm – 7:30 pm from January 4th – May 15th.  (The Tuesday after the performance will be spent celebrating the session and partaking in theatre games and activities.)

  • May 12, Saturday 5:00pm Call, 6:00pm Show

Junior Players: Musical Revue Show

Grades: 2 - 5 | Class Length: 60 Minutes

As part of Junior Players, students will have the chance to explore a wide variety of musicals through song and dance.  We will focus on 3-4 songs from different musicals, as the Players explore singing techniques and learn choreography appropriate for various musical genres. Each session will conclude with a showcase featuring the songs and dances learned in class.  Junior Players is a wonderful way to build ensemble, while also giving each student a chance to shine onstage with plenty of solo and small group opportunities.  This is a great option for the serious 2nd-5th grade performers looking to improve their singing and dancing techniques in a one-day program.
